The Spiritual Revolution: Bring the love, conquer the hate
I've been working on a new YouTube Channel, The Spirit Revolution, and I just recently finished the trailer. It's a new way I am going to start presenting some of my poetry....
With all of the chaos in this world, I was inspired to create a place online where I can deliver positive messages. It seems like stories of inspiration are far and few in between when you turn on the news or pick up a newspaper.
I decided to create " A Spiritual Revolution," at YouTube. It will be videos/recordings of poems that speak of faith, love and hope. So anytime you need a pick-me up or some inspiration, I will have it available...I just figured it was time to start conquering all of the negativity in this world and try to bring something more positive.
The link to the trailer and my new channel is below. More videos will be added soon.

The Universe is so much bigger than you can imagine...
So, after the last few months, I've done some serious soul searching and spirit research.
The most profound book that I have read recently is Embraced by the Light, by Betty J Eadie. It has definitely opened my eyes that there is something so much more to this universe-something bigger than all of us.
What she experienced in her near death experience was deeply profound and something I am never going to forget...

My review of "Women of the Bible" performed by Anita Gutschick
(Image from http://www.womenofthebible.com)
Today, I saw a really captivating performance by Anita Gutschick, an actress who portrays Women of the Bible. She is a one-woman show that sends a strong inspirational message through the art of drama. It is amazing how she can switch from one character to the next. With each performance, there is a moving message included. I saw her at a nearby church in my area, and it was a wonderful show.
Our message through the entire "conference" today, was about women and how they can be courageous and can be leaders. Women can overcome obstacles in their lives, but still come out, being strong, leading and helping deliver the message of God. Sometimes there are things in life that get us down and make us scared, but with God's love, we can learn to pick ourselves up, and come out stronger than we were before.

Thoughts about life:What is it really all about?
Sometimes I find myself wondering, "What is really out there?"... "Are my relatives who have passed on watching me?"... "I wonder how far the sun really is up there?..."... "The stars are so beautiful...does anyone really even look at them anymore? I know I do..."...
I find myself thinking about more infinite things, than the physical. I know there is more to this universe than the lives that we lead right now. In some way, we are all connected. I know there is a reason behind all of this and the life that we lead, but I find myself wondering-what is it that I am supposed to learn? If there is a higher power, and there is more to this universe where our souls move on, then what is this life that we lead?..."

Your Guide to Promoting Your Online Content
If you are an online
freelance writer, and write content articles for a number of clients, or even run a blog, chances are you need to get your content "out there." While it is necessary to write the articles to get the job done, you still need to market yourself as an author, to get your articles into the mainstream, so that you can perhaps get leads for other writing jobs, or create a residual income from your articles as well. There are a number of different ways to promote your articles online, and can be very easy to do with the right kinds of tools, and plenty of motivation.
The first thing, to create a name for yourself as an author and freelance writer, is to publish a blog. Having a blog is also a great way to earn some extra income with tools like Google's Adsense, or even placing ads on your blog too. You can decide whether you would like to update it weekly, daily, or monthly. Although, preferably, at least once a week for updating can get your blog more coverage in the search engines. Include partial portions of your articles in your blog, and then use a link to lead the reader to your article on the web. This is an easy way to get hits to your blog on it's website. This is especially important, if you get paid residual income from your blog too.

Would you steal sunglasses from a public restroom?
This is just a daily rant for me. Not that I am going to make it daily, but I just needed to vent. Before I rant, I question you this.
Would you wear a
stranger's pair of
sunglasses?
Would you put on a pair of sunglasses that you have no idea where they have been?..
And the reason I ask is because of this: Today, i was shopping in the rush of Wal-Mart's race. I had to stop to go to the restroom and I had been carrying my sunglasses. I put them down on the little ledge that holds the toilet paper holder. Mindlessly, I wash up, and forget about my sunglasses and leave. Minutes later, I realize I forgot my sunglasses. I go back to check the stalls...my sunglasses are gone. I check with customer service, and nobody has turned any in. So, within just short moments, someone stole my sunglasses! The stalls were all empty when I went in!
So someone has stolen a pair of strange sunglasses (from a bathroom of all places!)... I could see if it was money, but it was just a cheap pair of glasses from Dollar General. I know I shouldn't complain, because I left them there. But it's amazing how people take things that are not theirs... even if it is in a bathroom.
It makes me just want to randomly leave odd things in the bathroom, just to see what they would take, and what they would not take....lol..Might be a fun test!
What do you think? Would you steal a pair of sunglasses you found in the restroom?

Do you believe in the after-life?
One thing that all of us in the world have in common, is that one day, we will pass on from life on this earth. We don't know when or where it will happen, but we will eventually move on. But where will we go?
Those of us who are Christian, believe that we , will live in eternity with God in Heaven. More and more, we are hearing from Mediums who can communicate with the dead-such as the Long Island Medium. Some of us may read books, to research experiences that Mediums have had. I myself have been reading more books on the after-life written by mediums and Christian leaders.
We all get so involved with our every-day lives, that we forget, that in a matter of seconds, all of it could end-right now. Click here to continue reading about the afterlife....

Back to School: What is Your Child Eating for Lunch?
The return of children heading back to school is not that far away. It will be time to start choosing what to include in your child's school lunch or what days he/she will be eating breakfast or lunch at school. It is important for your child to eat healthy and nutritious food and snacks so that he can be alert during class and concentrate better on his studies.
It is ideal to keep the school lunch menu up on the refrigerator or a place where both you and your child can see what the school is serving. Some schools even offer the menu online .With the school lunch menu in plain sight, you can decide which days of the month your child will be eating. This can also help out with the family food budget in the household, so you know how much to spend on buying items for your child's school lunch.
Ideal items to include in a school lunch can include a lunch meat sandwich or PBJ, fresh fruit (apple, peaches, grapes, etc), a snack such as pudding or jell-o and fruit juice or water to drink. If your child is taking his/her lunch to school, be sure there is a place in his lunch box or bag to store an ice pack to keep the lunch cold and to prevent spoiling.
For families on low income, be sure you ask about Free School Lunch programs for your child. Free school lunch programs can also be available for breakfast (for schools who serve breakfast). You can be sure that your child receives a balanced meal for both breakfast and lunch at no extra cost to you.

Budget-Friendly Food Saving Tips
There are still many families finding it hard to budget because they have either lost their job or have experienced a reduction in work hours. We have to find places to cut back, and sadly enough, sometimes that is food.
There are ways to save money buying food, and not have to worry about going hungry though...Follow some of the tips below.
There are ways to save money buying food, and not have to worry about going hungry though...Follow some of the tips below.
Budget-Friendly Food Saving Tips
There have been many families who have seen a reduction in their household income. There are households where at least one parent (if not both) have either lost their job or have had to deal with reduced hours at their job. Many Americans are still fighting tough times despite what current news may report. Some say the economy is getting better, while others believe we are still in a recession...In my area-I believe the last statement- “We are still in a recession.”
Since many families are experiencing a reduction in their income, they have had to learn how to cut back and plan their food budgets accordingly. Some families have had to cut back on snacks and desserts and only buy the necessities. Others have become coupon-savvy and shop during sales. Whatever choice their household has made, they have had to learn how to become more budget-friendly with their food.
Make a List
There are a variety of ways to save money on your grocery budget. While it may seem obvious, one of the first ways to save money is to “make a list and STICK to it.” Do not buy any extras or items that are NOT on the list. When you shy away from the list, you spend more money than what was intended.
Plan a Menu
Another way to help you only buy necessities is to plan a menu at home.

Ancient Chinese Inventions that We Still Use Today
It's amazing to see what kinds of tools that we still use today that are actually inventions from Ancient China. The ancient Chinese civilization has taught us more than we realize. Even though technology continues to evolve, some of the most commonly used tools are still irreplaceable.
The Parachute One of the first inventions from ancient China is a parachute. According to historical documents, the first documentation of a parachute was dated back to 90 B.C. With many pilots in the air and adventure seekers who enjoy jumping out of airplanes, a parachute is more important than ever. It is widely used every day by those who spend their day in the skies. Without a parachute, many could lose their lives!

Poem:Dreams of the Night
Dreams of the Night
When I lay myself to sleep at night,
Sometimes the questioning things that I see through the depths of my mind
May seem just not quite right.
The faraway lands and places that I might roam,
Or the people and strangers that I may meet,
Sometimes some of these things can scare me
To the very tips of my feet.

Poem: Nighttime Blues
Tonight, Lord, I say a prayer to you.
Before I lay my head down to sleep.
While I try to promise to myself,
That I dare not weep.
I pray to you,
That you give me the strength to battle the challenges in my life.
As you know, Lord, the pain-
It cuts through my heart like a knife.
I pray for all of those who are in pain.
Please let them know, Lord,
That soon enough, they will not hurt again.

The Truth Behind Birth Control Pills and What You Need to Know.
As
women, we have so much pressure put on us about birth control and
reproduction. Somehow, society has made us feel as if it is our
responsibility to “take care of things,” when it comes to having
children. Women are the ones who carry the child for nine months.
Women are also the ones, who must take proper measures to control
whether they get pregnant or not. When we are young, we are taught
about abstinence and waiting until marriage. Once we are married, we
are told to “take the pill” or “protect ourselves” if we wish
to not get pregnant.
At a
young age, there were several people who said that I “needed to get
on the pill.” After having my daughter before I was twenty, the
nurses didn't really feel that it was an option to “fix me,”
since I was still young. I took a trip to Planned Parenthood, and was
informed I should be on the pill until I decided to have more
children. Nobody informed me of the possible health risks, or what it
could do to my body. I was told it was safe, and to take it at the
exact same time each day. As long as I took this pill every day, I
could avoid pregnancy. So like I was told, I took the pill. I took it
every day for 12 years.
There
are repercussions to taking the pill every single day for 12 years.
Just recently, I found out what those were. After having terrible
side and stomach pain, a trip to the emergency room, a CT scan, a
visit with my doctor, ultra-sound and an MRI, I received somewhat
disturbing news. While I am not terribly ill, the news still wasn't
great.
I
had a benign tumor known as a Hepatocellular
adenoma on my liver. A Hepatocellular
adenoma is
a rare tumor that is thought to be caused by the use of oral
contraceptives. In fact, it is so rare, that about 4 out of 100,000
cases are reported annually. While the presence of it being there
isn't life threatening, it could cause some complications if it were
to burst. If the tumor was to rupture, it could cause internal
bleeding. In rare cases, it could become malignant. For now, there is
no treatment for liver adenomas. If they grow larger, it is necessary
to surgically remove them, which sometimes involves a liver
resection.
In
my case, thankfully, my tumor is still small. My gastroentologist
informed me to stop taking birth control pills and to avoid
pregnancy. The tumor must be monitored by ultrasound every six months
to watch for any changes. As for the constant pain in my side, I can
only treat that with Ibprofen. If I have other symptoms that show up,
I must inform my doctor.
I
urge young women to be more upfront with their healthcare-especially
when it comes to their reproductive health. To avoid such a situation
as this, ask about non-hormonal ways to avoid pregnancy. If I would
have had any idea this could happen, I never would have taken the
pill. I don't think it's possible to forget about the tumor on my
liver-especially when I am monitoring it every six months. I don't
like the idea of having a tumor on my liver-even if it is benign.
Just the fact that there's any chance that it could become malignant
scares me....
Read
your prescription and over-the-counter drug labels carefully every
time. You certainly don't want to end up with any type of “rare
tumor,” or medical condition because of your own lack of knowledge.

Poem: The Gift of Life
but then you kick it right back.
Sometimes you felt that it wasn't worth all of the pain,
But there is so much more in life worth to gain.
Don't let life get you down,
God didn't create us to wear a frown.
Why so serious?
Laugh!
God gave us the gift of joyous laughter.
That is definitely one reason to smile.
Sometimes, you have to take a chance.
Roll the dice... and pass go!
Don't get stuck in the mud,
just take off your shoes, and keep on going.
That's why God gave you feet!
It's time to smile, laugh and pick up the pace.
Look up to the sun, and let the light shine on your face.
Bask in God's glorious warmth.
And always remember the simple things...
Without all of those small reminders, life would just be too difficult.
You only live once in this life-time.
Make it worth your while,
Life is the one gift that you can never take back.

My Budget Mini Living Room Make Over
It's amazing what difference subtle changes can make in a room. I've always wanted to make my living room appear more "comfy" and add more color. I went looking online for some different accessories and found a beautiful colorful rug in some of my favorite colors and a slip cover for our couch. We probably won't buy a couch for a little while, so I thought a slip cover would do for the time being. The rug was purchased at Walmart online and the slipcover was bought online at Amazon. I then added some of my own little Chinese tea-cups to put on our coffee table to give it a touch of simple elegance.
The entire mini-room makeover cost under $100. I purchased 3 rugs from Wal-Mart online for $34.95 (area rug, a runner and then a smaller one) and the slip cover was $24.95 at Amazon.com. I already had the Chinese tea-cups. They were given to me as a gift
You can see the results of my living room make-over below.

Poem: Forgive me Monday
"Forgive me Monday"
Oh Monday,
However I try to avoid you,
You always come my way.
If somehow, you could just take a break,
It's one extra day in the weekend,
that I would rather take.
Time with family and friends just seems far too short,
When Mondays come,
my heart breaks and my feelings are hurt.
So please forgive me,
If I give the cold shoulder.
Monday, is just not the day,
that I would rather be...
Perhaps you should call me tomorrow,
On Tuesday,
I will be ready to go.

Please do not eat in the bathroom!
Your kitchen table does not belong in the bathroom...
This is a warning. Nobody should eat in the bathroom...ever. It doesn't matter how big of a hurry you are in, or how much you really like the current snack that you are eating. For those who secretly eat in the bathroom-it is time to stop.
Bathrooms carry many germs, viruses and bacteria if it isn't cleaned regularly. Bathrooms are for relieving and getting clean-not to eat.
Think about what people do in the bathroom. Do you really want your food around it?

It's all about the food on Super Bowl day
I have never been much a sports fan. In previous years, I couldn't even tell you who won the Super Bowl. But, there is one thing that I do like about the Super Bowl: the food. Who doesn't enjoy gathering together with their friends and family to eat and share some fun lively conversation and competition?
You don't have to be in love with football to enjoy the food. Just allow the "foodies" to gather together while the ones who are into the game, yell it out in the other room. Super Bowl snacks and appetizers are a popular hit on game day. There's the BBQ wings, salsa, chips and dip, mini tacos and anything else that you favor on one of the biggest sports days in history.
There are a variety of places to find inspiration and Super Bowl recipes on the Internet. CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING....
