The Spiritual Revolution: Bring the love, conquer the hate

I've been working on a new YouTube Channel, The Spirit Revolution, and I just recently finished the trailer. It's a new way I am going to start presenting some of my poetry....

With all of the chaos in this world, I was inspired to create a place online where I can deliver positive messages. It seems like stories of inspiration are far and few in between when you turn on the news or pick up a newspaper.

I decided to create " A Spiritual Revolution," at YouTube. It will be videos/recordings of poems that speak of faith, love and hope. So anytime you need a pick-me up or some inspiration, I will have it available...I just figured it was time to start conquering all of the negativity in this world and try to bring something more positive.

The link to the trailer and my new channel is below. More videos will be added soon.

Poem:Dreams of the Night

Dreams of the Night

When I lay myself to sleep at night,
Sometimes the questioning things that I see through the depths of my mind
May seem just not quite right.

The faraway lands and places that I might roam,
Or the people and strangers that I may meet,
Sometimes some of these things can scare me
To the very tips of my feet.

Poem: Nighttime Blues

Tonight, Lord, I say a prayer to you.
Before I lay my head down to sleep.
While I try to promise to myself,
That I dare not weep.

I pray to you,
That you give me the strength to battle the challenges in my life.
As you know, Lord, the pain-
It cuts through my heart like a knife.

I pray for all of those who are in pain.
Please let them know, Lord,
That soon enough, they will not hurt again.

Tangled Art & Poetry

I have found a new love of Zentangle and still continue my love of poetry as well. So I thought, why not mix the two together and create a blog?

If you love reading my poems and also have a love for Zentangle or Zendoodle, then you can visit one of my newest blogs:

It will feature some of my best poems, and a tangle of the day. I will show off some of my latest Zentangle creations. Don't know what a Zentangle is? Let's just call it a fancy way to doodle!- Not only does it look fancy, but it's also very relaxing. It's a variety of doodles and designs that you don't really think about, but in the end, it all seems to work out. Try putting "Zentangle" into Google and see what I am talking about.... You just might get hooked like I did!

So when you have time, stop by my new blog: Tangled Art & Poetry.

Poem: The Gift of Life

Life will kick you down,
but then you kick it right back.

Sometimes you felt that it wasn't worth all of the pain,
But there is so much more in life worth to gain.

Don't let life get you down,
God didn't create us to wear a frown.

Why so serious?
Laugh!
God gave us the gift of joyous laughter.
That is definitely one reason to smile.

Sometimes, you have to take a chance.
Roll the dice... and pass go!

Don't get stuck in the mud,
just take off your shoes, and keep on going.
That's why God gave you feet!

It's time to smile, laugh and pick up the pace.
Look up to the sun, and let the light shine on your face.
Bask in God's glorious warmth.

And always remember the simple things...
Without all of those small reminders, life would just be too difficult.

You only live once in this life-time.
Make it worth your while,

Life is the one gift that you can never take back.

Happy Mother's Day

Mothers know that being a mom isn't easy, but we sure all give it our best. What all mothers remember, is the love that their own mother provided for them... And that is what we hang onto as we learn to teach our own children...

Below is a special mother's day poem for all moms out there... May they be remembered on Mother's day and every day of the year...

New Year Poem: Raise Your Glass to Life

Happy New Year 2012

Another new year is upon us. It's hard to believe we are saying goodbye to 2011. It's time to refresh, re-energize, and begin to truly hold on to our special gift of life. Even when things get hard, we must realize, that life is a gift, even when the going gets tough. Raise your glass to life in the new year.

Raise Your Glass to Life

The time has come to raise our glass,
to say goodbye, to another year's past.

From all of the days, weeks and months we have lived through,
It's time to put it all behind us, and build new memories that will ring true.

Hold on to those moments that meant the most.
Store them in your heart and raise your glass for a meaningful toast.

Pray that life will bring you good health, keep your family and friends safe,
and bring happiness, as you take on another new year with a full embrace.

A new year gives us a chance for a fresh start,
and a reason to stay close to those that we love the most,
without the fear of ever having to part.

Life is sacred, a real gift that we should always care for.
While some days may feel long, time is actually quite short-
It's never quite long enough, as we find ourselves wishing for more.

Before the chiming clock strikes midnight,
Look in the blue sky above for those first stars that shine oh so bright.
Make a wish, and hold it close to your heart.

When we wish upon a star, it has been said that those dreams can come true.
A new year.
A new beginning.
Another reason for living.

Raise your glass.
Give thanks that God has given you the gift of life...
Living in all of his glory, nothing else shall ever surpass.

Christmas Love Poem on YouTube

Earlier, I published a blog post for my annual Christmas poem, "Christmas Love." I thought that I would read it aloud for all of my readers for you to enjoy. This was the first time I was trying out a new mic, so I realize the volume may be a little low. I will adjust this for the next time that I read a poem on YouTube.

Be sure to subscribe to my channel, as I plan on reading more of my poems on Youtube in the coming year.

I hope you all enjoy listening to "Christmas Love." Have a Merry Christmas.

Central IL Hometown Poetry Club in the News

I have a poetry club that has been together since 2005.

While we are a small group, we keep on trudging along, trying to bring inspiration and happiness with poetry. We are always on the lookout for new members, and welcome any type of poet with open arms.

Awhile back, I was interviewed by an online magazine about my club. The magazine centers around taking care of those in nursing homes. I was quite surprised to get the call. I have been waiting for quite some time, wondering if it had ever been published. After not hearing for quite awhile, I pretty much gave up.

Just recently, I found the link while doing some Google research--seeing where my website ranked, etc. The story about my club reading at the nursing home had been published!--back in February....And now--8 months later--I find out....Better late than never!....

It is a lovely article.  You can see the article about my club reading at the Arcola Healthcare Center by clicking on the link below:

One of our other hopes of the club is to gain more members... If you are in the central IL area and enjoy poetry or know of others who are, our club is always in search of new poets....Read more about our club at:

Poetry Podcasts, eBook Stores, Book of Poems: Just a few projects in the works!

So,  while I have been busy writing content articles, in the mean time, I have a few other projects in the works too. One project was creating a few podcasts at Spreaker. I still need to do some more there.

If you haven't already, listen to me reading a couple of my poems down below .

The next project is extending the sales of eBooks. I thought it would be a nice compliment to my income. While it may take some time to get started, there have been some sales on eBay-but the prices have been low. Prices may be low because of a still staggering economy. But the way that I see money now--every penny adds up! Below I have listed some of my eBook auctions and my eBook webstore that I am still adding to.

Last of all, I am still working on my 3rd collection of poems, titled "Poems from Home." I really hope to have it finished by the end of this year. The book is still in design mode and I still need to do some editing. Right now, I don't really have any links to show updates on my book, but it does include poems such as the one that I wrote for Douglas County Relay for Life: "The Fight of Their Lives" , An Animal for the Day and "There is No Predicting Rapture."

As these projects get closer to being finished, I will post them here. They all will get completed a little bit at a time-as I do work part time outside my home, have a family and of course--somewhere in between there--I need to sleep! lol.....
