Poem: Can I Fathom?

Can I fathom?

Envisioning bliss in a world so surreal,
an eternity carrying on for universes,
mile after mile.
Can I fathom an eternity?

A life grounded, feet planted into the earth,
breathing in brisk air,
Warmth from the sunshine,
basking down on my face.
Can I fathom not standing here?

Closing my eyes,
and listening to my heart rest,
As I head to sleep,
I can only hope that
I have passed the ultimate test...
Do I know the meaning of an eternity?

Dreamily, I stare at the nighttime skies,
in love with the stars that twinkle in tune
to the music that plays in the evenings.
The cool air rushes past my hair,
as I silently give thanks in a silent prayer.

Can I really believe,
that I may not always be standing
in night-times such as these?

Such thoughts, at times, give me a fear.
Not because I don't believe in the great maker,
but because, it's you that I won't be near.

This heavenly earth,
where I entered,
after my mother gave birth.
I've fallen in love.
How can I leave,
if everything will be too far away
for my touch?

Into the worldly clouds,
I longingly stare
for as long as I am allowed
afraid, that it will disappear-
or that I won't be there.

I reach as high as I can,
and leap as far as possible
across the earthly lands.
And I Kiss my last kiss,
embrace my last embrace
and touch the last brightest star.

Can I really fathom an eternity...
an eternal home
for you and me?

Easter Poem: Peter's Betrayal and The Last Supper

Easter Poem: Peter's Betrayal and The Last Supper

With emotions of worry, doubt and some confusion,
disciples who honored their honorable teacher, Jesus,
joined him at the rustic table, ready for the Last Supper.

Together, with open hearts,
The disciples broke bread, and shared wine
with their heavenly master.

After a warning from Jesus,
it was told that,
one of them would betray him,
for they, would turn away from their heart
in denial.

As they gathered,
a question weighed heavy on their hearts...

"Am I the one?"

Each worried soul took his turn around the table,
in fear they would disappoint their teacher,
Worried, that it would be he,
who would betray Jesus.

How could their faithful hearts,
become the center,
of a wicked betrayal?

It seemed impossible
with the sacred love,
that each one bestowed
upon his teacher.

Together, with open hearts,
they broke bread,
and shared wine.

Jesus passed the bread around the table,
Blessing it with his everlasting love.

The disciples were weary,
hoping it would not be
he, who would be filled with deceit.

"Take it, eat it,
for this is my body."

Then the red wine in its shimmering glass
passed through each of the men,
Eyeing it with honor,
hoping it would not be he,
who would be filled with deceit.

Jesus said,
"This is my blood,
which seals the covenant.
This, we pour,
to forgive the sins of many..."

"Do this, in remembrance of me."

The men sipped their wine,
with hope and fear,
hoping it would not be he,
who would be filled with deceit.

And once, after they had come together
for their last supper with the teacher,
They sang soulful hymns,
and began their travels to Mount Olives.

Upon arrival, Jesus again,
foretold the men,
of how their actions and hearts
would pass.

"You will desert me tonight," he warned.

"Although, once I am raised from the dead,
I will go ahead of you to Galilee,
and meet you there."

Again, the disciples grew weary,
hoping it would not be he,
who would be filled with deceit.

One of the disciples , Peter,
a faithful follower,
who believed he had such a strong heart
protested towards his teacher...

"Even if they all shall desert you-
I never will!"

Solemnly, with his eyes focusing on Peter,
Jesus confessed...

"Peter, it is actually you,
who will deny me three times
this very night,
before the rooster crows..."

In heartbroken shame,
Peter fell to his knees
in front of his master

"No! Not even if I have to die with you,
I shall never deny you.
I will never deny you!"

Peter protested in agony
in a heartbroken shame.

Again, he proclaimed he shall never
deny Jesus-
He and all of the disciples
would never deny their King...

and as the night grew darker,
Jesus left the others
to go and pray to his father,
while the others were weary,
hoping it would not be they,
who would bring their teacher
deceit.

Where did the Easter Bunny come from in Easter?

Easter is all about the resurrection of Christ, and how he came back to life. He came back to tell us about life, ever-lasting. That our spirit does rise and come back again....
So, within this story, where does the Easter bunny fit in? Jesus certainly didn't rise again, and bring us all back stuffed bunnies... or even a pet one for that matter. And he also didn't leave Easter baskets or eggs for all the children in the community.

Skip the expensive retail plastic Easter basket this year

As Easter approaches, all of the expensive plastic Easter baskets start stocking the shelves. They are filled with cheap plastic toys, a few bags or boxes of candy and too much of that fake Easter grass. Yes, they all look appealing with their bright colors, delicious candy and toys, but really, it's just another cheap, yet expensive ploy for the holidays...

How about customizing your own Easter gift for your children/family? Forget buying those over-priced baskets. Some of them are going beyond the $20 mark, and it's getting plain ridiculous.

Poem: Soul Judgement

Soul Judgement

I sat, silent and still.
Vulnerable to your judgement.
My soul, open and naked for you to see.
I let you see it,
in all its purity.
You promised not to judge.

I sat, silent and still,...
while you gazed into
the most infinite and precious
part of you me.

You promised not to judge.

I sat, silent and still,
tears sliding down my face,
But I stood brave
in all of my faith...
You PROMISED NOT TO JUDGE.

I sat, silent and still.
listened to words that made no sense.
You talking of all things,
that I had unseen
or were past tense.

Here, my soul,
bare open for you.
This is what I get in return?
The least you could do is wipe
away the tears on my face.
But you stand there,
allowing them to wipe away the grace
that I had.

I get up,
no longer silent and still.
I cover up my soul,
no longer there for you to see.

A gift,
taken with no thought
It shall be you who will be judged.
My soul can not be bought.

And now you,
one day,
will stand in judgement.

While I will be washing away the impurities
and trying to regain
my grace.

Poem: Healing Spring

HEALING SPRING

I feel your wind on my face
as the sun tries to uncover itself
from its darkened space.

The breeze shifts directions,
bringing on a weathering change.

A distant warmth reaches out
touching my cold bare skin
as it rises my temperature from within.

I can feel you so close,
as you blow through my hair.

The echoes of spring
whisper in the air.

Mother nature is dancing through my soul
and I urge the darkened winter ghoul
to crawl back into its underground hole.

I feel your changing winds in the air
Soon your bountiful bright colors will
spread everywhere.

Everything will be a'new
once again....

The changing of the season
give us a living reason,
as we dance to your amazing grace
feeling the greatness of your healing glow
on our face.

Valentine's Day Gift Ideas: How to Say I Love You Without Flowers

You are on your way home when the frightening realization has dawned on you. It's Valentine's Day and you have forgotten to buy a gift! You turn around and scramble your way back to the nearest flower-shop or grocery store to get some flowers.

Although, now its getting late, and you can only pick from the left-overs. All of the "good stuff" has been purchased. With this said, it's another year of apologizing because of last-minute shopping.

It doesn't have to be this same scenario every Valentine's Day. In fact, you don't even have to buy flowers to say "I love you." There are many other ways to express your love without having to hand over wilted roses for Valentine's Day. Click here to learn about gifts for Valentine's day....

Help for Bookworms who need cheap and affordable places to buy their books...

I like to read books. That is print books. While I have tried the kindle app on my phone a few times, there is nothing like holding a book in my hands while I cuddle with my favorite blanket and pillow or sitting in a comfortable chair.

While I realize, you can go to a library, check out books and even order books for free, sometimes it is just nice having that special copy in your own home. This way, you can read it, anytime that you want.

There are some places that offer books at discount prices. One place that I have come to favor is Thriftbooks.com.
